RE: 17s on a pilgrim sumo can it be done?

I nearly built a Sumo and like you definately didnt want the 15" wheels. I saw a sumo being built last year with 17" wheels and they looked terrible. They didnt have the depth that can be seen on Dax/AK's etc. I think its something to do with the Sierra/Granada hubs sticking out more or something. I dont know if there is a way round this ? (Pilgrim didnt seem to think so when I spoke to them at their factory).

My tuppenths worth.

Marcus

It must drop hugely after your 21 then as I got insured on a sumo with 3.l V6 at 23 for £550 fully comp through Adrian Flux
good luck and shop arround, I'm sure you will get a better deal.

RE: Deleted message

i ave done mate i rang every company thats advertised in kit car mag and all of em apart from adrian flux said to insure me on a kit car id have 2 be 21 and over :f im 20 in a few months might wait then and try if not see how my cobra goes if i buy one ready made or just buy a dax kit and make it up and when it finished i be nearly 21 anyway so might be a better more sensible thing to do. Ill sell my civic and drive around in a shit box f red nissan micra so i can throw all my cash into teh cobra.

RE: Deleted message

Hi Rich, the normal build time for a Cobra is 2 years. It can of course be done a lot quicker but it does tend to work out to cost more as you cant afford to waite for those bargains to turn up so end up sometimes paying more for bits just so you can get on with the build. There are some people of course who have built in a lot less time ( I took a year which is how I know it tends to cost more).

Good luck with what ever you decide, I must say the satisfaction you get from building your own is irreplaceable. :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7
