Absolute bargain although the new purchaser would have to factor in an engine rebuild.............Theres a sticker in the engine bay advertising the fact that the engine had been treated to "slick 50" treatment.

Cheers,

Tony

Would never ever use Slick 50 in an engine!!!

V8's with hydraulic lifters rely on a bit of friction to spin the lifters every time they open on the camshaft. adding more slippery substances to it will cause them to stick in one place and wear unevenly.

I used Slick 50 in a Land Rover gearbox once and it immediately made the box quieter. Great I thought, Until the box got impossible to change gears and when I stripped it down I found the roller bearings had not been rotating in the bearing but staying still and slipping on the bearing surfaces creating two large flats down the sides of each roller.

Because of this I would never go near the overpriced Crap again.

Craig.

Smile we love slick 50

slick 50
well i have never used it in a gear box and i not sure if you can ?
but all i can say is that i think it's wonderful stuff .
i have used it on BL A and B series /ford x flow /cvh/v6 BMW 2.5 strait 6 /rove k series engines with out any problems what so ever.
i only add it to a engine once it has been run in around the eight thousand mile mark from new or a re build.

i know many of my friends has used it with out any problems .
and all the engines covered many thousands of trouble free miles
surely any thing that stops engine friction has to be good in my book
i will continue to use it in every car i buy and every engine i build

we love slick 50 !

Back on topic, I just spoke to the guy and the car has gone. A friend of mine wanted a cobra but didnt have a huge budget so this was the car for him.

I was told the car was sold to a dealer in Essex for not even the asking price. Watch out on some websites and see what that gets resold for.
