TAXES!!

Contrary Mary

Following the recent trends to-wards anti smoking, the Government are proposing a 35% tax on all parking and speed tickets!

Mr Ken Livingstone in his wisdom is also proposing a ban on all vehicles, yes all vehicles including busses in the London area that do not have a catalytic converters. What is going to happen re the 60's busses they are running now I ask myself?

What you reckon on that then Ehh?! x( x( {-} Eric.

RE: TAXES!!

Why the tax on the poor old motorist again? Isn't this being 'taxist'? Surely the tax needs to go on all fines levied by the courts to be 'fair' -would generate more dosh too

Cheers

Well Richard, as I say I suppose with the loss of taxes on Fags of late & people shopping in France etc they have got to get it somewhere!

The problem is with putting it on all fines other than motoring offenses is; They cant collect the fines they dish out now, let alone a tax on it!

I don't know what the exact figure is but they reckon there is millions outstanding on criminal fines etc at every Court up and down the country, so it would seem to be a NO NO on that one Richard.

RE: TAXES!!

Eric

Is it any wonder that folks revert to smuggling.

As you know I drove to Corfu in April, brought back 200 packets of fags (for my own use, I might add) @ £1.60 per packet, for those who can't add up thats £320, in England they would have cost £900.

June I went to Le-Mans and brought back 40 packets @ £2.50, (£100 in total) in England they would have cost £180.00.

I'm not condoning this habit and many of you might say, "if you stopped you could have put this cash into the Cobra", but me and the missus are smokers and as I look at it we have saved £660, don't tell the wife but I might just look for some more goodies.
