Xenon lights on Cobras

Has anyone on here converted there front lights to Xenon on there Cobs??

I see that you can buy a coversion kit for about £120.

Do you think it's too bling??

Your thoughts please.

Its illegal.

Xenon lights need and autowash system and a self leveling system, I looked at doing this on the bike and got a whole heap of information.

Who or how they would check I can't remember but I think it had something to do with MOT.

The best bet on a Cob is to mount some driving lights inside the top of the nose cone, you can get some very very bright small lights, I looked into it for the Cannonball but didn't have time in the end.

Personally I've never had a problem with Halogen bulbs (provided they have a decent earth) There was a thread on here a year or so ago about Xenons and from memory there are setbacks

I agree with the Xenon lights for brightness. I have them on my BMW. The last few days we've had really thick fog and they are so good switching the fog lights on made no difference.
My only comment about fitting them to the Cobra would be how often do we drive these cars in the dark?
I drove my Cobra from Donnington to Dundee in the dark at the end of the year and found the H4 lights adequate, although I have 80/100 watt bulbs fitted.
One point to watch if uprating the bulbs, make sure the fuses are adequate, the first night out, I switched on the headlights and the fuse blew, luckily I carry spares!

Bloody hell! Are you lot going blind or something? Mine has only ever had Lucas sealed beams fitted. Real 60's stuff. Do keep a Labrador with a reflective yellow jacket strapped to the bonnet though.
