Image wheel coating

Hi,

I have been in touch with Image wheels regarding having my wheel rims either anodised or clear ceramic coated.

They say I can take the wheels (with tyres on) to them and they will see if it is possible to anodise them (as once the rims have been used it is not always possible). However they could put a clear ceramic coating on them for £60+vat per wheel.

Does you have any opinions on this?

Suspect it would be cheaper and perhaps better to use a local alloy wheel refurbisher ?
Clean/polish/repair and then recoat how you want.

Hi Trevor,

I think I'm going to opt for the clear ceramic coating as the wheels should look very similar to polished ones (i.e. very shiny).

Image say the coating can be reapplied if required in time (years?) to come.

my image wheels were ceramic coated about 18 months ago; its not the perfect solution though, they can water stain if droplets of water are missed and are left sitting on the wheel so not fool proof; personally I wouldnt waste my money Id buy polished ally rims and a tube of solvol.
