I'm thinking that as a result of all the Chevy and Ford boat anchors going down the boot will need to be filled with antique engine parts such as carbs, condensers, distributor caps, plug leads, clutch covers, crankshaft pulley bolts, fuel pumps, etc etc

I'll throw a few jerry cans of fuel in there as well just in case there's more than 60 miles between petrol stations.

( I can just see this post coming back to bite me in the harris if I get a "dry joint" in the Lexus ECU somewhere in la belle France ....and we all know what my luck's like in France)

Well, I've found the tent and I'm delighted to report that it easily fits in the Cobra boot. It sits comfortably on the shelf at the back of the boot, leaving the rest pretty well empty for clothes, cooker etc. I might even be able to get a folding chair in.
