DAX Build - How to get a rolling chassis

Any pionters greatly appreciated.

I've ordered my non-assembled rolling chassis for delivery in December so today I started buying bits and pieces to store in the garage until that time (the rest of the brake kit, pedals, clutch master cylinder).

I've read the manual afew times now but is it me or are there huge chuncks of helpful bits missing?

Has anyone documented their build to a level that either compliments or replaces the manual that they would kindly share with me (photo's are fine if not better).

And still the same old question of engine in before body?

I rebuilt cars in the past so have basic knowledge but I started to think I'm not up to it BUT I will not give in and buy the kit already assembled!!

Many thanks in advance

Michael

Fit the front suspension first.
Then the rear.
drill brake, fuel and battery line clip holes.
Fit body.
Fit engine later, it makes it easier to fix the body down in the engine bay if the engine is out.
Ring me when you get the bits and i'll tell you how to set your front suspension geometry while the chassis is on stands, this will save you loads of time later.

P.S. I have various pictures but if you want a picture of something specific then give me a call and if i don't have one already i'm usually not far off having a car to that stage in the build so i can take one and e-mail it to you.
See ya'

Dave,

Many thanks, this is very much appreciated. Just trying to get my head around things and make sure I do as good a job as possible.

I'll give you a call regarding the pics, first interest is routes for brake, fuel and battery and final shots of brake/suspension front and rear.

Regards

Michael

Michael, just a thought but if you go to your local regional meet a couple of times you will probably find several people with their personal build photo albums with all the photos you need and more. Plus you can have a good look around then and get loads of useful tips.

Just a thought, Martin:tu :tu :tu

RE: DAX Build - How to get a rolling chassis

Martin,

Strange you should say that. My local rep for Essex (Graham) mailed me last night and invited me to their meet this Wednesday.

As I thought, I'm learning something new every day
