Couldn't I make it plain from the start that all 1600 tickets must be sold before the draw or everyone gets their money back?

A for the fraud/honesty issue..hey, its me! Trust me Seriously though, I would expect the draw would have to be done at one of the shows on the CRC stand or something in front of all the witnesses etc etc...

Still, the gaming license is a bummer... Maybe that's why Dave Brooks has never done something like this.

I did say I maybe wrong, it would be worth while doing some checks if or when you do it.

You could make it plain that all tickets must be sold before the draw takes place, personally I would want a timescale set out before I would part with my hard earned, how long is a piece of string.

Seems a lot of grief to sell one £16,000 kitcar; why not just advertise it for £16,000ono??
Also you would have quite a bit of expense; ticket printing, gaming licence, legal compliance costs, advertising to sell all your tickets, and dont forget you 'prize' would have to be merchantable quality; for example the VMCC runs machine raffles, and they regularly get winners carping on that the bike is not this or that; and the VMCC has t rectify the problem.
Most vehicle rafflers offer the winner a cash alternative to avoid this.

As I said in the original post, this idea was in responce to reading about aV12 cob still on sale after two years with no offers Anyway, I will probably keep the car. Still love it, but there is always that feeling that maybe I should sell and build another project

I'm with Mike and Anthony on this one, I'm sure there is much more to it that just printing tickets. I know someone who Raffled off his Harley and I think to get around one rule it had to be a competition. ie. The tickets had to have a question on them, "Multiple guess" would be fine with A, B or C as the answer and the question easy enough for a 7 year old to answer.
I think that you might not be able to use the car once you start selling tickets. An old Dax (Pretty new back then) was raffled off local to me some years ago, the car appeared in local shopping malls with girlies wandering around flogging the tickets. But this all costs.

You could try eBay to see where it goes. But go to town on the description with masses of pictures of the car and any paperwork you have with it, also run a long auction time and do it in about the next 4 weeks.

Pistonheads is a good place to advertise too, and it's free for private ads.

Or.... You could ring either Sovereign or Hallmark and sell the car directly to them.

I was under the impression that V12 cars sell regularly for £12k, if yours is a really nice one they push tha fact and you will have a much better chance of getting your £16k.

If you had some scantily clad girlies (not fatties or gingers) draped over the car and selling tickets i'm sure we'd all at least come for a look

Actually, maybe not all of us....am lead to believe there are one or 2 members who would prefer a gimp straddling the car selling tickets

LOL my point was its a lot of grief compared to selling it normally, and there are a lot of hidden costs, not to mention the possibilty of a complete litigious idiot winning it and making your life a total drag afterwards!
The V12 dax for sale for over 2 years is either a pup, poorly advertsied or overpriced; anything will sell if its well presented around market value, and Ive seen a few Dax V12's sell for 12-14k, and my guess is your costs I mentioned above would be close on £1000 ish all told, not counting all the time it would take?
Far easier and quicker to just drop the price a bit if it doesnt sell at your asking price; Ive always been a fan of piston heads, as Dave says its free so no risk at all (bar a few emails from dreamers who dont turn up at the appointed time ; its worked for me twice selling cobras, one for £20k one for £24k but you do have to put up with a few idiots, put loads of details and good pics up, and revise the advert comprehensively at least every couple of weeks to keep it high in the ranking.

Good luck with whatever you decide; I have a hunch you dont want to sell it at all; just got the winter blues like me!!!
