Update on the dyno situation;

I am particularly frustrated at the recent decisions by Stoneleigh because none of the following were issues when I originally contacted the organisers. I feel that Sid the dyno guy and myself have been stalled for time with all sorts of requests and no answers to messages left on ansafones until the 11th hour when we are powerless to do anything. I have made in the region of 50 phone calls to try and get this event to happen. No one is more disappointed than me.

Here follows a copy of an email I have received from Stoneleigh organisors today;

Dear James,

With reference to our telephone conversation I can confirm that unfortunately the Cobra club will not be able to use the rolling road in their area during the Kit Car show.

This is due to two reasons,

1) Stoneleigh Park has been informed by Warwick District Council that they will not allow the reving of vehicles during the event after receiving complaints from local residents, which they have upheld and therefore have served us with a noise abatement notice for a previous event. We are in discussion with them over the Westfield car demonstration as this is a visitor attraction for the public to partake in.

2) After speaking with the Organisers of the event they felt that there would be some safety concerns with setting up the rolling road on a grass block, for instance should it become loose or unstable and injury a member of the public.

Based on this information I'm afraid I cannot allow the rolling road activity to take place.

Kind Regards
Drew

Noise? have they not noticed Coventry Airport yet? Same stupid thing at Donington - they have to wait for the jets to go before they can measure your car exhaust noise............

Phukin stupid idiots. Feel like boycotting the whole thing.

Thanks for your efforts, James.

Bunch of idiots! What has this country come too!

Well done James for trying, It is just a shame this has fallen along with the parade laps at Le Mans!

Shame I sold the Rolls Royce. That could have sat on the rollers producing 130bhp from 7.6ltr all day and no one would have even noticed.

Thanks for trying to organise this, James - once Health & Safety get involved you can guarantee they'll be objections, no help just plenty of objections. They can't really associate with other people who have already ' got a life'
