Stoneleigh Dyno shoot out update - urgent response required

Come on guys.............there are still 5 places to fill for Sunday and 9 for Monday. I have to speak to the dyno guy on Wedneday this week so please can we book these last few remaining places

Soapbox Mode On.

I dont want to be a harbinger of doom but with only 53% of the places booked at this late juncture with only two days left I dont think that the other 14 places will be filled.

I understand to some degree the reasoning behind wanting to restrict the event to Club members only but perhap this restriction will itself result in the event not taking place. This would be a terrible shame because not only would 16 club members thereby be disappointed, but also a superb marketing tool and ploy for attracting new members at Stoneleigh would be lost. I'm sure that the dyno runs would attract big crowds and be a focal point for the show.

It would drag even me out of the beer tent !

I have suggested previously that the event be made open to non members and even other car marques as the numbers would soon fill the available places. I suggest this is done asap to make sure that this very useful and interesting spectacle takes place.

I'd hate to see a fantastic marketing opportunity as this go to waste on the altar of an arbritary restiction to "members only "

I think this event SHOULD be limited to MEMBERS ONLY there has to be some benefit to being a member and to encourage other people to join. Even if there are no more places booked there are probably going to be people on the day who are Club members who will want to take part. I say go ahead and book it no matter what as the places will more than likely go on the day.

If non members really want to take part then all we need to do is put the membership joining forms very handy so they can join first then they can have a go.

My understanding of the tone of Mr Blings plea was that if he can't confirm the full 30 places by Wednesday the dyno event was off.

Rather than see it pulled iI was looking for other solutions.

I have no doubt that if it goes ahead some empty places will be filled on the day, its down to persuading the operator to set up his equipment for 16 guaranteed places.


Personally I cant see anything wrong in a bit of fraternisation with other car marques, we can all learn from other vehicles and enthusiasts. Besides who wouldn't enjoy seeing some ropey Nova eating its internals on the dyno !!
