Manufactured by Hose Mendez who is currently 89 years old.

Paul, you seem to be taking more off the car than putting on. Is this a feature of the Kirkham? Do you have to dismantle it and reassemble it to feel like you have participated in the process?

Something like that
I could have fitted a seperate solenoid, which is what Dave Brookes did, but I thought, as all the wiring is there for a mini starter, I may as well fit one. I fitted one on my last Cobra and it was excellent, much more convincing than the standard starter at start up.

I don't think I've taken anything else off.

Paul

Neat trick with the baco-foil - how do you get it to stick?

On a more serious note - nice one.

Thanks Wilf. The ally is somewhat thicker than original and also of a tougher grade. Sitting on it doesn't seem to bother it, so I doubt the odd knuckle wrapping will hurt it.
I don't think I'm going to be able to get the body sanded down before spring, so I suspect I may end up driving it this summer as it is and then doing the body next winter. I don't want to waste precious summer months with it off the road.
