RE: Gel coat polishes okay, luverly

I know the feeling, mines done 3000 miles since painting a year ago.
I'm amazed how many stone chips I've collected in that time, strangely most of them appeared at Elvington.
Did anyone else have that trouble?

"Do at bit at a time or you will get bored and end up with a cr** job."

I cant stress this enough... I got bored too easily and subsequently will probably have to do mine all over again (not much fun with all the brightwork on etc etc.. Either that or I will have to get it painted sooner rather than later..

RE: Gel coat polishes okay, luverly

Hi Robin,
Good to meet you and Emma yesterday. I am sure that your car will polish up loverly and look great with the interior that you have chosen. I really like your chosen body colour & the GD seats, well worth the cash.
I would love to be in your position, building my own car but I was an impatient sod and went for the easy option by buying a DB car. I do think building yourself would give an added dimension to the ownership experience. I wish you all the best with your build.

My Mum was waiting outside the house when we got back last night and asked for her first ride in the car. I asked if she wanted a slow drive but she told me to show her what the car was about. I did, and not sure if she had properly recovered by the time she left at 10pm. She did enjoy it, well thats what she said anyway!!!

Happy sanding
Brian

Mick

Definately takes time but a decent finish is possible.

I used a polisher on mine but did all the rubbing down by hand, if you want Farecla polishing compounds go to their website and you can search for your nearest stockist.

Tony.

I'm as sick as a pig, I've ordered the body for my Dax in gel coat finish and the only choice was grey.

I have no choice but to paint it!! }( }(

Cheers, Brian,

I am also an impatient sod, but don't have the cash lying around to take the easy option!

To be honest, I'm not sure if I'd recovered by 10pm either! I think Emma (mine) was a little jealous, but she'll soon(?) have a boyfriend with his own.

Can't believe you broke the speed limit like that... almost 76mph!

mclark

Surely they will give you a choice of gel-coat colours at extra cost,
all the other manufactures do?

RE: Gel coat polishes okay, luverly

Mike,

I've just checked the colour chart they gave me and the rush panels come as a "coloured option" gel coat, whereas the Tojeiro body colour is supplied as a base colour for painting

I'll try them again though

Michael
