In the beginning

At last

I've got a Rover V8 Vitesse engine and gearbox together with fuel injection system safely tucked away in my garage.

Going to get it checked over and replace any suspect parts, although going through the receipts from the car it came off, it was reconditioned 30,000 miles ago and has since had lots of other new bits like starter motor etc.

I'll be replacing obvious parts like the clutch and timing belt etc as a matter of course because I only want to do this once.

I'm going to make a frame to mount the engine and gearbox into so I can move it around easily and also test out the engine when I'm ready to run it.

I can't wait to hear it growl at me.

And so the fun begins..................

Good in it, did you decide on which kit to buy or am I behind on the posts?

RE: In the beginning

Hi Mike

No, I haven't decided on the kit yet, thought I'd keep myself occupied with the engine while I carry on checking out the manufacturers.

I was hoping to get to Donnington in a couple of weeks but I've got to go to a wedding. What a nightmare, being dragged kicking and screaming to a wedding when I could be drooling over Cobras.

Your mind will get boggled if you don't decide quick, good luck which ever you choose.

Mike

Let me hear this V8 growling first then I'll have to find out how fast it is, and that means I'll need something to put it into.

What more incentive could I need.
