You can get the frames from AK, you have to cut and assemble them yourself and supply the perspex, then you will need to get them covered in hood material, mine where covered by Doug Sutton, who is AK's trimmer.

Don't know the cost, as I bought the complete hood and tonneau package, have a chat to boys at AK.

thanks mike i will call them monday morning first thing.
mine nearly pulled the roof off yesterday on the way up.(they are plastic flimsy ones)
so i was bloody freezing cos i had to take the lot off.

Russ, which Kit do you have? Although I have built an AK :tu :tu :tu I have fitted the GD hood because I prefer the way it fastens around the back, the only draw back is that the GD hood has bigger openings for the side screens so the AK windows I have don't fit:f :f :f :f without some modification:} :} :} :} :} :} But they should be sorted by Donnington So if you are there you can have a look

Too late I have already started to alter them and presides my wife and I are off to Spain and France in the middle of September :tu :tu :tu :tu (in the Cobra) for a touring holiday so I have to have it all sorted by then anyway. As you will see at Donnington.

i`ve got a feeling the hood is a pilgrim item.any difference that you know of from an ak hood?

I had a Pilgrim before the AK, the only problem I can foresee in fitting AK sidescreens is securing the hood to the top of the sidescreen, as the Pilgrim one's zip in you will have to have a flap sewn into your hood that will hold hood poppers that will clip to the top of the sidescreen, this will stop the hood from lifting away from the sidescreens.

One easy way to see if they will fit or not is to put your hood on and measure the gap from the door to the hood and see if the gap is parallel at the front and the back. The AK one should be about 13", you will find that the front is right as this is governed by the screen but the rear does vary. The AK one has to be parallel as the rear part slides forward.
