Assuming you're looking for a std XJ ser1/2/3 type (ie not for a Dax De-Dion chassis) then several, depending on model and engine type and option specified, but your easiest source is 6 cylinder XJS which are all 3.54 PWLK as standard.

There 'should' be a small ally tag on one of the diff cover bolts which will give you the ratio figures, divide one by the other and you have the ratio.

Thanks, been on the look out for the xjs but they are a little thin on the ground. The reasson I asked is because there seems to be more xj6's out there.

Hi Seph, yep that 3.54 diff is fitted to XJ6 3.4 manual and auto ('75-'86) and 4.2 manual/overdrive series two ('73-'79).

Hi Paul, XJ6 series two cars (pre-'79) had Jaguar four speed plus overdrive, then Jaguar five speed from then on through series three ('79-'86).
None of these cars used a Getrag, that came with series four (XJ40) from '86 on.

can someone give me a pic of where the tag is supposed to be please. I cant find mine anywhere I put the car on axle stands today so i could fit my clutch slave, but all i can see on the diff is something on the housing just by the propshaft conection, but it is almost impossible to read. Its in a Ram cobra and u cant see alot of the diff . Do i need to take off the brakes or something?
