RE: Noisy Fuel Pumps

How about a mechanical one on the engine? Mine has a Carter mechanical pump.

I have a mechanical pump on the 383 stroker quite adequate for anything I've thrown at it so far.

If you can still hear it above the engine, then you are probably not driving hard enough. Try pressing the volume pedal more...

Young man, it would appear that you have a very bad attitude toward your fellow road users.
Surely you cannot condone the making of a all sorts of noise which is likely to annoy other people.

AVE IT!!!

:tu :tu :tu

But seriously it's not always possible to drive on the loud pedal, in town and a niosy pump would be annoying.
I love posing through the High Street at a nice burble, it sure turns some heads.

RE: Noisy Fuel Pumps

I use a facet red top on my Pilgrim rv8.

you can't hear it at all even when the engines not running.

The only time it makes a noise is when the tank runs dry and it starts sucking air.

I think I have a spare one in the garage if your interested. Should cope with a chevy ok.

Rgds

I agree even tho the facet runs all the time you cant hear it if its mounted on the rubber cotton reels supplied with it.

RE: Noisy Fuel Pumps

Ensure you mount it on rubber. Make sure you have a cut out linked to oil pressure sender so that it does not run when the engine is not turning;

I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking... I hardly ever drive above 30 anyway (and that's on the motorway)...

RE: Noisy Fuel Pumps

... or maybe install an inertia switch to cut off the fuel pump in the event of an impact.

Simon.

PS Robin, I think maybe the 30 you're looking at is on the tacho{-}
