There was one point when I was head first down there cutting through the side wall with the angle grinder that I couldn't get out quick enough...stuck for a moment!?!

And no, you don't have to be on fire, hot sparks just burn!! but it was more the sudden realisation of how stupid I was being!!

I only stretched in to do the passenger side.

You have to love the way your legs rest on the rear bodywork when on your back in the tunnels though...

LOL?!

Same here....just a moment of panic, as I thought I was going to have to wait for assistance. But slow breathing and just caliming down got me out! lol

Hi Janandchris,
Funny you should mention this, last weekend I decided to extend the clutch master cylinder 4" further into the engine bay to clear the rocker covers, and I had to get under the pedals to get out the two bolts and the rod out, and I got into a position sort of laying over the handbrake at an angle and down under the bulkhead and I got cramp in my shoulder I have never felt pain like it, and when I tried to get out my boiler suit got jammed ont the handbrake,ha ha sheer panic set in, and I struggled that much my left side is all bruised, my garage is 30mtrs down my garden and as the door was shut my missus could,nt hear my pitifull cries ha ha.I cant believe that someone else has got stuck in this way and I was,nt going to tell anyone.but it makes me feel a bit better.
Regards
Alfie B

I seem to recall that having got into that position (head in footwell, legs on rear bodywork) it took me a very long time to get out. If there had been a fire I think you would be calling me "crispy" by now...........

Yes, been stuck in the footwells, both of them. I can get in there ok, then I wriggle about to get to the area I'm working on (ruining) and my back seizes up. I'm not going to confess to panicking though.....

Nearly broke my neck climbing out of the (empty) engine bay. Foot on chassis rail, other leg over the wing onto stepladder......stepladder falls away, ooooooh. My nuts pushed up into my splein and I crashed to the floor feeling somewhat sick and sweaty. At least my choir singing has improved.

I glued the carpets in last week.
Crawled head first into the drivers footwell with plenty of glue fumes - I suppose building a kitcar does have it`s plus points.

You don`t have to be mental to build a kitcar - but it definitely helps.
