Sidepipes

I have aquired some custom chrome sidepipes, although the noise emmission is something I can deal with for the SVA test, I have not got a radius edge on the exit. Has anyone else who has been faced with the same thing got around this, ie chrome trim around circumference(Pilgrim SVA magic trim)?

RE: Sidepipes

I had the same question and I was told to use the black plastic trim that is used on the roof sill of a mini.

I would also like to know if this is cosher. I asked if it would melt and was told it is not hot enough at the end of the exhaust to melt it....

anyone ever used this method??

RE: Sidepipes

Pilgrim magic trim will melt.

I got through the SVA with a right dogs dinner of a bodge (supplied by Pilgrim)

Check out Pete's SVA Tale of Woe and there is a link to a web site in the last email in the thread with photos of the very same bodge.

Looks naff but gets you through the test

RE: Sidepipes

Hi there if you take your side pipes to a friendly welder and ask him to TIG weld a 5/6mm stainless wire around your outlet (exhaust pipe of course) this will give the correct radius if he is good then it should not wreck the chrome.
if you live near me then give me a call and I will do it ( costs at least a beer)
Paul
