agreed value for insurance

slight spanner thrown in the works on my Insurance renewal with Adrian Flux. I have been asked to provide an independant valuation. I can either get an Insurance assessor or I can ask the chairman of the CRC to write a letter confirming my valuation, this is the options they will accept. In more detail the assessor must be a member of the institute of motor engineers with suitable credentials. I had no problem with Flux last year as they agreed costs against invoices i provided for build up Insurance, now I do not know Tony and the cost of an assessor is between £60 - £100, anybody help on this problem?

Insure with Backford Bloor.

Thanks for the advise gents unfortunately premium paid(yes I know about the 14 day cooling off period) but I have all my cars with Flux and I find they do a good job at a resonable price, just looking for a way round the problem without changing

Just insured with A Flux myself, they just wanted photos and me to sign the agreed value form. Insurance is with Trinity Lane £22,000 cover, 6000 miles per year.

Cheers
John

insurance

I have also just renewed my Insurance with Adrian Flux like John, they just wanted six photos and said that their panel would agree a value. I did not need photos the last time I was with them, but this time they changed the company that I am with.

Did a valuation for me last year.

Also undertake court disputes for drivers against the Insurance companies when they refuse to pay out etc.

Hope this helps.

The clue is in your reply, you don’t have an agreed value policy as this would have been set by you and who ever you got to value your car. I suspect you will actually have a market value policy which is what most of us try to avoid.

an update on this one, I rang Backford Bloor for a quote this morning, and I was quoted £198 which is £73 more than Flux. I shall cast around for a cheap assessor or buy Tony £60 of beer to write me a valuation letter and pocket the £13 to splash the bottom of the float bowls!
