I did this about 5 years ago although we only went across the top bit of Spain and into France. Best bit of advice I can give is make sure you get a very good map of Spain which is recommended by someone who has been their. We had a top brand of map, can't remember which one now but as you travel along what is supposed to be a main road this suddenly turns into a narrow poorly kept road. This happened quite a few times, I suppose the fact that I prefer to travel on interesting roads so that you can see some of the countryside, doesn’t help. They really love Cobras there though I have been to about 10 different countries in Europe and by far the reaction I got there was the best. We did a write up of it in Snake Torque edition 81. HTH

Seem to remember that happened on an episode of Top Gear too, doing a road test of some exotic car and suddenly the road disappeared

Driven from here to Gibralter with no issues, fantastic roads, but they were all main routes.

I'd say France and Spain are fine, but Italy seems to be nose to tail traffic all the time, so not ideal for a Cobra.
Be sure to take plenty of sun cream and waterproofs....

Hi ya,

Why don't drive through Switzerland, as they did in Top Gear.

Petrol still cheap compared to the UK.

Just make sure you come before the Germans and the Dutch have holidays, as they like to pull there Caravans over the mountains and you might get stuck behind them.

Been to Italy 3 times now in the cobra and have not had any bother at all, although their speed limits are stupidly low, but I can't understand Italian anyway . Been through Switzerland twice as well their roads are great but you will get NO reaction to a Cobra at all, even at petrol stations Avoid Collins maps but I think Michelin are really good, I know the one we got for France is really great.
