No more Carlife

At the Donnington show, I got to the Carlife chap (D Mercer) just after he'd sold out of the Carlife rubbercoat product that seems to be the most popular coating to stop stone chips and crazing.

The chap has now STOPPED selling Carlife and so as far as I'm aware, it wil not be possible to get any more. Apparently, the product was manufactured for export only and , whilst Mr Mercer did not elaborate on how he was able to obtain it and sell it in the UK, he was sure that we would not be able to get any more.

Does anyone know of a similar product that can be used. My local motor factors has a stone-chip rubbery paint that needs to be sprayed on using a parfin type spray gun. Has anyone else used this ? and does it work ?

Cheers

David

I'll have a look on the Subaru forum, there were a load of guys having their cars coated when I bought my car (I didn't have it done!!). I soon realised how #### the Subaru paint job was.

David,

The product is called "Armourfend", not sure of the cost but the guys rave about.

Regards

RE: No more Carlife

I've been using Finnegans underbody sealant, with added Waxoyl (I'm not going to let my fibreglass rust...) because I had a tin lying around. I'm about to start using Nigrin, a German underbody sealant, because I was given a large tin. Does anyone know if these are actually worth painting on?

Which areas should I be painting? Just under the arches ("..underneath the arches...") or the whole of the exposed underneath?
