Dax build pictures

Does anybody have pictures of their Dax cobra build from start to finish that they would be willing to share with me? I have just started stripping down my donor parts ready for my chassis early next year and I am just looking for as much help a possible so that I don't make any stupid and costly mistakes.

I live in the Northwest of England (Not far from Wigan) and would also like to know if there are any local meets which I could attend?

Thanks

Lee

RE: Dax build pictures

Just starting my rebuild, car was finished in 88 with 3.5 rover, going for a proper engine now 460ci Ford, just as god intended. Just completed stripping parts for shot and vapour blasting and the the other bits are off for plating. Give me a shout and I'll have a chat.

RE: Dax build pictures

Hi Tony

Have you been down to Dax yet to speak to them, I found all the people at Dax very approachable and freindly. I warn you that if you do go down there, you will not be able to leave without ordering something. This is not because you are put under sales pressure, you just loose all sense of reality and don't care about anything else but getting stuck in. Have you got your donor parts stripped down yet? If you have well done, if you haven't,and you get stuck, please send me a message as I have been making lots of notes and taking even more pictures and I'm sure I will be able to help.

Good luck

Cheers

Lee

RE: Dax build pictures

Hi Lee,

Now a Dax owner in waiting, Chassis should be delivered sometime May2004. I knew I should of ordered at Donington, what with the show and the open day I lost quite a few production slots. After a drive with Gary, that was it, I had to have one. I ended up going for the easy route and bought an unassembled rolling chassis package. I quite liked the idea of stripping the Jag, but decided my neighbours would not take too kindly to the old Jag being cut apart out on the drive. Probably not the cheapest route, may of been cheaper to get the Jag bits from somewhere like Classic Spares, but certainly easier. What engine are you going to use? Keep in touch.

Cheers, Tony

RE: Dax build pictures

Tony,

Congrats on you purchase. For info, I order mine at the end of July and delivery date is Jan for both chassis and body.

I had actually ordered all my parts from Classic Spares as they are very local to me. For £1000 I would of got all the parts required and all the bits to recon them plus my 3.54 powerlock. Ended up being about £300 dearer to buy the unassembled chassis without the mess so that's what I've done. Powerlock cost me £250 on it's own.

No just need to order my 350 Chevy engine/gearbox and I'm off and running when the chassis turns up.

Good luck.

Michael
