| System Admin Question Rob, Ive just installed Zone Alarm Pro V4 and turned on the privacy settings, this appears to bugger access to this website. Ive gainned access by turning back on my private header and 3rd party cookies. Are these items required by this site? Will Zone alarm also knacker my tracking of when new posts have been added. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers Andy

| RE: System Admin Question Rob, Thanks, but a bit more info is required. Ive enable session cookies and Persistent cookies but disabled Third party cookies, now according to Zone labs "A third-party cookie is a type of persistent cookie that is placed on your computer, not by the Web site you are visiting, but by an advertiser or other third party. These cookies are commonly used to deliver information about your Internet activity to that third party." I understand why the site uses the other cookies to store my settings etc but I dont like the idea of third party cookies, after all thats why I have zone alarm pro. I have nothing to hide but dont like the big brother ability of the internet to track you wherever you go. Of course my understanding is not that of a webmaster so if Ive made any incorrect assumptions I apologise. thanks again Andy

| RE: System Admin Question OK, get what you are on about. The Forum uses a cookie, but the banner adds at the top of the page served by CJ also use cookies in some instances to track whether visitors have clicked the banners, and if they have continued and bought anything on the relevant site. We have chosen suitable advertisers such as Ebay etc, who have strict privacy policies which reflect our policies. If you turn off thrid party cookies, then the only thing that will happen is we will not track the impressions and clickthroughs for the banners, no big deal. As long as you can log into the site, we don't really mind. Does this help?? If not, let me know.

Cheers Andy
