| RE: AUTHENTIC COPY Hi there Wilf if the guy who started this thread want's the ultimate Cobra replica then he should put a Chevy in it as what's been said before "THAT'S WHAT SHELBY WANTED" in the first place plus was it not you that said us Chevy people can get our spares from Halfords ???? cheers Paul }> }> |

| RE: AUTHENTIC COPY Paul - and Rob. For some reason I am feeling soft and cuddly this evening, even accommodating. If you wish to continue your fantasies about Shelby wanting Chevvy <clear throat and spit> engines in his car then please do continue. I do not recall making any comments about Halfords, why would you wish to leave your current supplier, Mothercare? My view, after an exceedingly trying day at work which has left me somewhat depleted, is do as you wish, enlightenment is only granted to a very few. Rob - my comment elsewhere about your needing to find employment came only after you informed us all about the end of a contract leaving you with far too much spare time on your hands, thus able to bugger about with the forum again. I am sure your time is spent wisely. And to finish this thread - all replicas are different. All originals were different, usually slapped together with whatever parts were around at the time, over-trading hugely on race track success. If your cobra suits you, great. Each to his own, and long live individuality. Wilf

| RE: AUTHENTIC COPY Wilf would you agree with me that while Ford engines have won virtually every catagory of racing in the world and are by far the most successful in motor racing history even over the likes of Ferrari in formula one the only thing I can ever remember G.M. winning is a couple of rally's with a 2.3 Chevette. | RE: AUTHENTIC COPY O Dear, what have is started, it seems everone is agreed on one manufacturer, but opinions seem to differ as to what engine should be squeezed into the engine bay. I have just received the info from Crendon, and what a lovely piece of kit (no pun intended) it seems. However, it seems faithfull replication of the body comes at a price. Wilf your a lucky man to be building this because its a bit strong for my bank balance. With regard to engine choice, if you have gone this far to replicate a car, there is only really one choice of lump, and that is a Ford. (this should stir it up a bit!) But this is only my opinion. |

I am sure your time is spent wisely. Wilf The comment regarding finding employment was to another user on the site. My username is Robert, the other guys username is rob. I think you owe him an apology, not me. All the best Robert Forum Admin Like I keep saying to my son: "Play nice, please."

| RE: AUTHENTIC COPY >Shelby - assuming you are considering UK kit suppliers only, then Rob >is right, Crendon (01296 651985 - John Kerr). If you have really (£50k >plus) deep pockets, then the Kirkham ally bodied car (made in >Poland!!) is available through Hawk cars. I think american speed specialists also import the Kirkham body also.
