| I have 25k pounds for a Cobra Kit. Which one do people recom Hi there, I know there are a few posts going on the web site for which Cobra kit to buy and why, but most seem to be aimed at the lower end of the price range. I am looking at spending about 25k pounds on the car so I really want to know what peoples experiences are with the various manufacturers and which one people would recommend for this money. I am also thinking of getting the car built for me so which manufacturers offer the service of a fully completed car? Also, I am looking alongside this for a completed car that has been built in the last year or so. If anyone knows of a very good spec car (must have 5.7+ ltr V Cheers and I look forward to seeing everyones comments, |

| RE: I have 25k pounds for a Cobra Kit. Adrian A factory built Crendon or GD will set you back around 32K, depending on options. Dax don't do factory builds, they will pass you over to a build agent. Regarding a completed car, I know GD have got a car that is possibly up for sale, it is a ZZ3 5.7 V8 engine on a Euro chassis, very tidy built by a customer and that one could be available for 26Kish. | RE: I have 25k pounds for a Cobra Kit. Thanks Robert. I have just called Andy and he is sending me a few pictures by E-mail. What are your opinions of the GD (I see you have one). Do you know this demonstrator at all? When I get the pictures from Andy I'll put another reply on here and tell you what I think. Cheers mate, |

| RE: I have 25k pounds for a Cobra Kit. I own a GD, and have had lots and lots of fun in them both touring (down to Le Mans) and at various trackdays, they are very versatile in that respect, at easy toddling along and the next minute, you can be racing it on a track. If you read a couple of my posts, you will probably see how I rate them. Regarding the demonstrator, yes I do know it as it was owned by a guy who is quite local to me (about 6 mile away) so I am familiar with the car. It is a very tidy car and the gent who built it spent a lot of time and money getting things right on it. Robert Forum Admin http://www.cobraclub.com/flags/UK.gif

| RE: I have 25k pounds for a Cobra... I don’t know what this could be worth but I do know that one of my fathers customer’s friends are thinking about selling his Cobra. It was made in the UK some ten years ago. It is supposed to be more of a genuine replica with an aluminum body and all compared to the more frequently used GRP-clones. I was asked if I wanted to buy this car instead of building my own. I think he is asking for some 300000 SEK but I think he is willing to let it go for less. I was not interested since I am building my Cobra for the fun of building it. But you might be interested considering how weak the Swedish krona is compared with the British pound these days. Exchanging 300000 SEK gives you 19314.34 GBP at the exchange rate 15.5325. Feel free to contact me if you want me to investigate it further. / Robert, but not the one with a blowned GD

| RE: I have 25k pounds for a Cobra Kit. A healthy budget can allow you to buy all the parts for the build new or reconditioned which makes the construction of the car often just a matter of lifting and bolting everything into position. Along with other more tedious jobs like fitting the brake pipes. With everything prepared it doesn’t take long to build a rolling chassis and can give you a better insight into the workings of the car, along with the satisfaction of having assisted with the construction. Once it’s rolling it can then be sent off to have the body put on, interior done and finishing off etc. Which takes the time and special skills. There are plenty of reasons why someone wouldn’t build the kit themselves. However if the opportunity presents itself I would recommend considering it. Have fun test driving them all Andy |

| RE: I have 25k pounds for a Cobra Kit. Look - I am just trying to help other folks out, despite your ceaseless barracking. Is being difficult a prerequisite for being a GD owner?? If so thank goodness I went for a properly shaped cobra!! And with an engine where the distributor is at the right end. Wilf
