Data Protection Scam

I received a letter this morning from a company called Data Processing Protection Corporation, saying I had not filed in accordance with the DPA etc etc etc. Please send us the required information along with £95 to process your blah blah blah.

Failure to comply will be liadble to a maximum £5000 fine in the magistrates court.

What a lovely scam they have going there. For the cost of printing and a 2nd class stamp, they get a cheque back for £95.

What a bunch of ***ts. :wewar :wewar

RE: Data Protection Scam

'R lass' received 2 such letters over the last year, scum bags. Mind you she did write a savoury reply and sent it back with no stamp. Only a little cost compared to what they are ripping folk off with but nice touch all the same.{-} {-} {-}

RE: Data Protection Scam

Nice to know that I'm in good company then. These scumbags must be minting it in from unsuspecting people. Because the amount asked for is relatively little, organisations will often just pay up. It must be at least 18 months since we had ours so the scam clearly just goes on & on

Cheers
