Hi Gang,

Just a short visit to catch up with the latest developments, only to find that this site is degenerating into a huge slanging match.

Abuse is being hurled in all directions and the General Discussion Forum which used to relate to Cobra related matters is now no better than a housewives gossip. (In fact that statement is offensive to housewives!!)

Rob, maybe we should have the following forums:

Character Assasination Forum

Slag off Manufacturers Forum

Abusive Language Forum

Anyone with any other ideas??

On a serious note, when I first joined the forum and was researching my build, I found it an extremely useful site with a wealth of experience to be offered to all new members from those that had been there and done that.

It enabled me to make a considered judgement on which kit/engine to buy and more importantly made me aware of any pitfalls that I may encounter.

The advice given at that time by Wilf, Rob MikeT and many others over a large range of Cobra related subjects was invaluable.

All the time I was building my car I would visit the site to ask stupid questions about my build etc always received a number of very useful responses. I looked forward to the day when I had completed my build and could meet some (if not all) of the guys who played an important part in helping me achieve the end result, compare notes and join in the real fun of driving the dream!.

However, now thatI have completed my Crendon I'm really not sure that I can really be bothered, to meet some of you guys.

C'mon all, Whilst I have never met or spoken to Rob, I know that he has devoted a huge amount of personal time and effort in running this site, and must be "gutted" with the banal banter which is now going on and also the direction in which, the integrity of this site is going.

Im fed up with the way the site is being highjacked by people who appear to have their own agendas and/or get into prolonged threads which degenerate into abusive, slanderous threads.

What must new members or other visitors think of us?

For those who want to spout off about off topic (Non Cobra) issues then go to THE COCKPIT and do it there (Cos I never visit that forum) or preferably start their own website.Leave the General Discussion Forum to issues that are of interest and informative to new potential owners and conduct the threads in a civil manner.

The home page of this web site states "The overall aim of the Cobra Replica Club is to give moral, and hopefully technical support to builders and owners, organising car show attendances, social events (monthly area meetings) group holidays and whatever members are prepared to organise on a voluntary basis"

Lets not forget this guys (and Louise!) and lets enjoy our common interest.

If things dont start improving around here I'm off cos the whole thing is getting boring!!

You will note that I am not taking sides or naming names because all those involved are as bad as one another. There is a fountain of knowledge out there lets use it.:tu :tu

Cheers

David

Well done, I tried to put over the point under the heading, Forum Fracas, but I see it has already been high-jacked.

Hi,

I'm not one for posting that often, but I must say that you have made some great points. All the Cobra guys I have meet from the beginning have been very social and helpful, but the last few months / weeks have just got silly. Can we not just back to Cobra talk, we must not let this go the same way the 289 register is going!!!!. We have some great information to share, tell about COBRA's!!!, lets get back to business.

I hope this stops soon!!!!!!.

John.

RE: New Forums Required

This is the best post I have seen for ages. I purchased a pre-built car in July and used to visit this site regularly to see how others were getting on and just enjoying all things Cobra with like minded people.

I have stayed away recently as I just got very bored with the nature of most posts which seemed to belong at the National Soap Awards.

It is a shame as I think that the friendly, helpful nature of most people is one of the finest qualities of our club.
