RE: NOS refills

Real Steel supply @ about £4.50/LB. alternatively look on Wizard of NOS site, there is a list of suppliers. Best/cheapest bet is to get an account at Linde Ind gas (BOC will NOT supply NOS for non-medical use)and buy a big (acetalene sized) bottle for £250 plus bottle rental (need to specify bottom dip bottle) - this works out at about £2/lb. You'll need to buy a transfer kit to go with it though - about £70 if I remember correctly.

Not cheap to run whatever you do I'm afraid especially when you can use a 10lb bottle is 1/2 dozen 1/4 passes - worth every penny though IMHO.

RE: NOS refills

Hey Russ

Thanks for that.........I'll give those contacts a try.

Doing the refills yourself sounds not too dis-similar to playing with nitro-glycerene.......I'll make sure my life insurance is up to date, and that I'm right at the end of the garden before I attempt it I think!!!!!

If you hear a bang..............it's me doing it wrong!!!!

RE: NOS refills

Seems all are paying over the odds! I pay £1 per lb from a local garage who's main business is LPG. He also runs a welding shop which is where the refils come from. Its in Leek, Staffs and called Car Auto Gas
