Moto -Lita

Hello Guy's,

Just thought i would let u know how i got on after posting message about which Boss to use suitable for the RAM Sc.....I purchased a Boss kit from Europa, they told me it was either a B55 or a B37A..but did not know which.and would not take back the B37a if it was wrong as it had to be ordered!!!!..Anyway, decided to go for the B55.and yes..wrong one:} ....Spoke to Moto_lita..they told me, that from memory, it was a modified version of the B37a that adrian cocking used to have ......"send the one u purchased from 'supplier' and we will sort u out"

Less than a week after sending the B55 back to Moto-Lita...a new, polished ally, specialy shortened boss arrived:tu :tu :tu .

So my advice to anyone out there...Speak to Terry at Moto-Lita ......TOP MAN:tu :tu

Steve:tu

I'll second that Steve, someone nicked the centre cap plus Cobra badge from my steering wheel a while back (plastic type), Terry said it was way below their minimum order value at £3 "so just send me 3 quids' worth of stamps." I did, it arrived next day. As you said, Top Bloke!!

I'll second both of you. My Mota-Lita wheel got badly mauled when the Krook Lock had to be cut off (when I lost the key). Spoke to Terry who offered to refurbish it in exchange for a reasonable number of beer tokens. The result is a thing of beauty. What a shame all suppliers don't take the same approach.

Regards to all

I'll third that, when I bought my wheel and boss from them i was prepared to buy a special billet boss, they told me not to waste my money as a polished standard cast one looks as good and they were right.

It's always nice to hear of someone doing something right in the kitcar business, can i add that i had to phone AutoBrass last friday and was spoken to by the proprietor who was one very helpful guy who took time out to sort out my screen query and phone me back very promptly. We all hear about the "bad guys" lets hear it for the heroes too:tu

Whilst we are on the subject of helpful suppliers I wonder if it is worth while comparing notes on others.

Some of the ones I have found particularly helpful and knowledgeble are:

Brasscraft - Chrome work
M & M Trimmers (Mark) - Anything related to trim, hoods etc.
Think Automotive - Anything related to oil cooling and plumbing etc.

RE: Moto -Lita

I agree that the Mota Lita wheels really do look the business but having just fitted one to my Mk3 Granada column, I've got the problem that the steering lock no longer works as the groves in the boss are to shallow and the peg on the column cannot lock into them. The wheel just turns accompanied by lots of clicks.

The horn ring is alos causing problems as when fitted to the boss, it is not quite central so when the wheel is turned, the horn comes on intermitantly. This is despite having filed the brass lugs to increase the gap between them to reduce chance of them crossing over the tracks on the horn ring.

Has anyone else had these problems? Could it be a "Friday afternoon" boss ??

David
