The question is will it fit???

To all you builders

I have been offered a 820 bhp chevvy engine rather cheap!!!:tu :tu

All I have to do now is see if it will fit.

1. will I need new engine mounts?

2. will I need to alter the bonnet, I thought that I could cut holes, but maybe it Wouldn`t pass the SVA.

3. I thought this engine would be alright for everyday use and the wife wants to use the cob to go to Sainsbury`s

4. I hope I`ve bought the right engine, I think the car could be quite quick.

All suggestions gratefully received.
Please see attached photo.

Paul

Paul,

Yes that sort of power would be fine for the trip to Sainsburys, you'd be able to get the frozen pizza's home before they defrosted at least{-}

Simon

ps I'm sure you could cut a nice big hole in the bonnet, the sva guys wouldn't mind.{-}

RE: The question is will it fit???

Presumably you didn't want an engine that you would be able to use on the Road.

Where is the power band 5000 to 7500 RPM.

Seriously hope it brilliant, but I would check it not geared up for the track before you cut bonnet etc.
Mike.

RE: The question is will it fit???

I would imagine an engine with that sort of horse power is going to be undriveable below 3500 rpm and probably idles at 2000 rpm.
Not exactly emissions friendly either.
Ideal for a drag strip but as for the Sainsbury's run HMMMMM!
I think you'd have all kinds of trouble with SVA / emissions.
I think a stock engine installed first to get you though the test and then drop in the monster if you feel the need.
