Forum Upgrade

Guys & Girls

I need to upgrade the forum, however whilst I am doing the upgrade is there any tools/functionality that you guys would like to see?

Better blogs, tighter integration or some different functionality?

Hi Robert,
In the Home Page on Recent Threads, when I used to place the cursor over the thread title it dispayed the first few lines of the thread. This no lnger seems to hapen sonce the last upgrade, although it works in the New Posts section.
Also I would like to see a "Back to The Top" facility on threads to save having to scroll all the way back up after reading to get back to the index.
Apart from that all is tickety-boo! Keep up the great work. I appreciate it.

Both of those are currently in place and working.

The recent threads shows a subset of the post, and at the bottom right of the page there is a link to "top" which takes you back up.

Check your browser has javascript enabled as this will have an effect on the recent posts text.

I know that a "Thanks" button has been implemented in some versions of this board code - any thoughts on adding that? Be nice to be able to thank someone for a useful/informative/fun post etc without necessarily adding a "me too" type post?

Cheers,
Mark

In the top right corner of each post is the users address etc, is it possible to include in there the car type, colour etc?

I think the forum is pretty well set up already in terms of control, complexity, etc..

"Thanks" would be a good idea.
The ability to IM other online members would also be useful.

You could also put a dealer marketplace at the bottom, so sponsors can place their own thread there (i.e. I don't have to wait & keep refreshing until the top advertising banner appears for the relevant sponsor). And you could charge more for this ......

Oh, and can we please have more than 5 milliseconds to be able to edit a post ? Maybe 15 minutes ?

Cheers

ds

Hi Robert, what would be handy is is something to stop you losing the post you might have been typing for ages, especially when going back through posts to confirm names ect.

Sorry, if you press the back button then it will be lost. Try using notepad to draft the post if you are referring back and forwards.

Post edit time is set to 5 minutes, more than enough time to read and edit imho.
