Should it or shouldn't it?

That is the question?
My cobra has the front end of the Granada, running gear,in other words, the front cross member and suspension set up e.t.c,my question is does it need to have the anti roll bar or not ?
Can i with confidence bin it?Any thoughts?

Kev

I told you to bin it last year, which you did, then put it back on, so why ask when you don't listen. The standard Granada anti-roll bar is to stiff for a Cobra, especially with a Rover engine.

Don't forget though Mike, it is a Classic Replicas, you know the one with the very strong (Heavy) chassis.

Kev. Could a Cortina one fit? It may be a little lighter.

An anti roll bar is quite a useful piece of kit as it helps with stability when cornering without having to have such hard springs that you end up chipping your teeth while driving..........I think.
I used to have a book called "How to make your car handle" It was a mine of info on all things suspension and the first thing it said was to uprate/ fit a front anti roll bar as this would improve handling much better than forking out fortunes on uprated springs and dampers.

RE: Should it or shouldn't it?

Kev, don't quite agree with Mike as as Dave says the Viper is one of the heaviest and strongest ladder frame chassis on the market today rightly or wrongly. My car comes in at 1,195 kl's with out fat old git driver!!

So I am told there has been a lot of work gone into the Viper in passed years (anti dive)and the like & the roll bar goes a long way as Dave says to add stability to the handling. In the old days we used to add another roll bar to the existing one with ally clamps to make it stiffer in fact.

You could always find a lighter version to fit I am sure like a TR7 unit for example. The question I would ask what is the exact problem with the granada unit?? Eric
