| You can buy proper tyre wall white paint in a tin. Frost Auto Restoration Techniques - Search Results for tyre wall Haven't tried it myself so not sure what it's like. I guess half the problem could be if these tyres are already used and you have used some tyre wall blacking stuff. Most of these contain silicone and will soak into the tyre wall itself. Not a lot sticks to silicone. Craig. |

| To stand any chance of the paint adhereing the surface needs to be rubbed down prior to painting. Just rub the surface with a fairly coarse wet and dry untill you get clean dull fresh rubber. Avoid using chemical cleaners as they normal "kill" the paint. No different than repairing a puncture really, If you don't buff it first the glue doesn't stick!

| Try www.plastidip.com its liqiud rubber and much better than paint, because it flexes with the tyre. Every paint will come off sooner or later, but this is far more resitant, as long as you do not scrub it off on kerbstones. Yours sincerely, GB |

| What did the originals use as they looked as if they were sprayed on using a stensil. I do like the white lettering but painting in my TOYO's wouldn't look quite the same as GOOD YEAR. Years ago I used the white tyre paint in a tin, took ages but looked good and lasted quite a while. |
