Two steps forward one step back

Fitted new big end and main shells in my Rover V8 engine. Reassembled it all, fitted the sump it all looked good.

Went to fit the crank shaft oil seal at the flywheel end and it wasn't having it. Got the manual out and read it 'tighten up the main bearings but leave the one near the flywheel loose, fit the oil seal and tighten main bearing'.

I want to cry.
