How many RAM owners on the forum?

Hello Simon.

My brother has LR Roadsters RAM Cobra chassis no. 003, he bought/built it in 1984/5, Rover V8 power. A Ford 351 Windsor engine is awaiting a rebuild with Edelbrock parts, that will be fitted in the not too distant future. The fibre glass on these early ones was cr*p, he had a new wing grafted on about 18 months after he bought it.
It still has ripples in it now. Some years ago we took it for a track day at Goodwood, the handling of this car is infinitely superior to my Dax (ladder chassis.) The only thing quicker that day was a really hot Caterham 7, but the guy tried so hard he left the circuit several times and bounced off the grass banks. Does anyone know how many RAMs were sold in total?

According to Adrian Cocking, they sold over a thousand! I would imagine some of these were the "C" and "D" Type replicas that were based on the RAM chassis, but I would imagine the vast majority were Cobras.

Mine's a 1991 built RAM with SBC 350 and gun metal mettalic body. Living in Shoreham-by-Sea and attend the Sussex/Hants monthly club meets at Goodwood.

As you've guessed by my user i.d. I've got one as well. Mine was built in 1988/89 with a Rover lump etc. I've only owned it 6 weeks, having rescued it from a blokes front garden. I've rebuilt the running gear, including the steering in preparation for its next mot.

So you can add another RAM to your list.
