Fiero Factory Woes

I have been looking at the Fiero Site of late, and have noticed a large number of Fiero Owners/Builders who are having problems with fairly mundain problems!!:} The consensus of opinion seems to be that they can't get an answer from the factory! No sensible answer on the forum, and "I visit the cobra club website often and have become somewhat disenchanted with the level of some of the "discussion" which goes on there. The sheer vitriolic nature of some of the posts is hard to believe - free speach or not."
"I would like to know what the tie-up is with Fiero Factory - are you their mouthpiece or what? How are they getting on these days? The torrent of abuse they suffered on the cobraclub site did not produce any attempt at defence as far as I am aware." These people are Cobra Replica Builders!!! They deserve our support and encouragement! Please welcome and support them!!
Cheers

RE: Fiero Factory Woes

Chris,
Not sure where you're coming from?
I have never seen any posts that abuse any particular manufacturers products when the owner asks a serious question.I know Andy comes in for a fair(and I mean FAIR) amount but he brings that on himself.
We all ask daft questions and get equally daft answers, but most times find the solution to that problem.
I'm sure that most problems are not that gender specific that we cant and wont help anyone.

RE: Fiero Factory Woes

I dont think its just the Fiero builders who arent getting help or are getting abused, it seems to me that not many people are willing or able to help others out here any more or theyre just worried about getting shot down in a ball of flames if theyre opinion is different to someone elses. I tend not to answer questions unless Im fairly certain, but even when you do answer you get no reply or someone will start a conversation with someone else on that thread and youve lost the point of that thread so you give up. Maybe thats why not many people are getting their queries answered?
Sorry, feel better now Ive said that, wont happen again, will just keep quiet as per usual,
Phil

RE: Fiero Factory Woes

Phil,

It's interesting that you say people are worried about posting answers but I do agree there has been a huge lack of tech posts recently. I thought everybody went out to the garage in the winter to finish those little projects off.

I'm still trying to get to grips with all the parts I have in the garage and I've had to post some real "stupid" questions on here, like what are these bag of bits for. But I have found that people have still been very patient and answered none the less.

Just wait till the chassis finally gets delivered I'll be flooding this place with questions :P :P

RE: Fiero Factory Woes

Hi Michael,
not everyone is worried about it, but Ive seen so many questions run down the list unanswered or I have answered some and got no response at all from the original enquirer. That just really gets to me, I might as well have written it in white. To me thats just plain rude, even if its not the correct answer or not the answer you wish to hear a small answer wouldnt be too much to ask for would it. Maybe its just me I dont know but as the original question on this thread was about the Fiero boys not getting a responce then I thought Id just point out that its not just them. Ive seen some of your posts and have tried to answer some where I can,
Phil

RE: Fiero Factory Woes

I suspect that the Fiero isn't the most popular of kits and as such there aren't too many experienced builders who are able to help.
Unlike for Dax, GD, AK etc.
I'm always keen to answer any questions if I feel able to, many of the parts are quite generic on all Cobra kits and as such the answer is valid for many kits.

RE: Fiero Factory Woes

Some of the lack of techy questions being posed is due the success of the site itself, I now regularly do a search on topics to find answers before posting - invariably someone else has asked and had answered the same question.

I don't recall too many questions being left unanswered, but then I don't remember ANY fiero build questions being posed either.

If people want to pose a question then they should - I've asked enough dumb questions, and will continue to do so

Jim

RE: Fiero Factory Woes

I tend to agree, Ive often returned after a while to look at a thread, seeing lots of posts think Ah! some answers only to find that the whole string has turned from a tech question to "whos going to the pub or whos got he biggest....." type of thing. not to knock diversity but I get where you are coming from. Now what was this thread originally about :9 !!
