HELP WITH INSPECTION REPORT V627/1

HI GUYS
NEED A BIT OF HELP ON A COUPLE OF THINGS DONT WANT TO END UP WITH A Q PLATE SO GOT TO GET THIS RIGHT, ANY HELP APRECIATED.

1)ON THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE BUILD REPORT IT ASKS FOR PRESENT REG MARK, MAKE, MODEL, COLOUR ETC. NOW THE WAY I READ IT IS THEY ARE ASKING FOR MY DONER CAR DETAILS, BUT DAX HAVE TOLD ME TO FILL THIS IN AS IF THEY ARE ASKING FOR DETAILS OF THE COBRA IE MAKE-DAX, MODEL-TOJERO, YEAR OF MANUFACTURE-2004 ETC.WHAT SHOULD I PUT HERE?

2)ALSO ON THE INSPECTION REPORT THEY ASK FOR RECEIPTS FOR THE STEERING ASSEMBLY NOW IS THIS FOR THE RACK AND PINION OR THE COLUMN OR BOTH. I BOUGHT THE RACK AND PINION FROM DAX AS PART OF THE CHASSIS PACK, HENCE THE RECEIPT SAYS CHASSIS PACK AND DOES NOT MENTION THE RACK AND PINION SEPERATLY. SINCE THE CHASSIS PACK ALSO INCLUDES THE NEW SHOCKS AND SPRINGS I FITTED, AND COULD PROVE TRICKY SINCE ON THE FORM I AM CLAIMING THAT THESE PARTS CAME OF THE DONER CAR I DONT REALY WANT TO USE THIS RECEIPT. WOULD I GET AWAY WITH A RECEIPT FROM THE BREAKERS JUST SAYING 'STEERING COMPONENTS'AND JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT.
HOW HAVE OTHER DAX BUILDERS WHO ALSO BOUGHT THE CHASSIS PACK GOT ON WITH THIS PROBLEM, OR AM I WORRYING NEEDLESSLY ABOUT THE WHOLE THING.

Hi Bilko,
My advice is to:-

1. Put the donor registration number on the form (top right hand corner).
2. Anything that could have come from that donor car, you should mark as having come from the donor.
3. Where the form asks for a receipt, mark it “From car reg ABC 123 D”, where ABC 123 D is the donor registration number.
4. Don’t try to over do it. If you’re using an obviously “foreign” engine then say exactly where it came from. If it’s a new yank, say it’s actually reconditioned though.
5. Your question about steering gear is one of those vague areas that, if asked about or challenged, will play to your advantage. For example if, in the very unlikely event, the inspector knows that it’s a DAX steering rack – you can say you thought the question referred to the column.

The rule is that you may keep an age related plate (but not THE age related plate) IF you use 2 major parts from one donor PROVIDED you have the log book AND declare that you’ve personally dismantled it.
