| Goodyear tires Another question! The original Cobra uses the Goodyear Eagle tires, but in the replica business I don't see them that often. Are they too expensive? Are they not reliable? Please let me know, because I don't like the Halibrand/Goodrich models in relation to the Goodyear's! Groeten! Jordy |

| RE: Goodyear tires Jordy Goodyear Eagles are a good tyre, I guess they are not the trend for the replicas. Many owners seem to like the Goodrich, I guess because they are American and you can get them with raised white letters. I, like you find the BF Gooodrich low on friction especially in the wet as you would expect as it is old tread and compound technology. I progressed to Yokohama AVS which were light years better than the Goodrich and now I am using Toyo Proxes that I find slightly better than the AVS. Japanese Tyres seem to have the edge over the rest. I believe the new Bridgestone rubber is also very good. However, here is the crunch. Both Yokohama and Toya are similarly priced and when I was shopping, were about £30/tyre more expensive than the Eagles although this may have changed. Don’t be surprised to pay approx £70 to £80 per tyre more for the Yokohama or Toyos over the Goodrich. The Bridgestones are even more expensive. The only other negative is that of rapid wear, but to get high levels of traction you can't get over this. Happy Motoring. Mike. |
