Receipts

Guys

What receipts do I need to keep hold of for SVA/DVLA?
I`m starting my build in the next couple of months so it`s time to start giving out the hard-earned. Obviously some things come cheaper without receipts{-}

Going for age related plate, not new build.

You don`t have to be mental to build a kitcar - but it definitely helps.

RE: Receipts

Paul,
Basically the more "evidence" you have, the better.
It will also help add to the resale value and may be useful in the event of an insurance claim.

For the age related plate, you will need to provide evidence that all the relevant components came from a single source (donor vehicle).
The V5 document for the donor is a necessary piece of evidence - this will determine the year of registration you will be issued (unless you want a cherished transfer to something older).

Obtain leaflet INF26 if you haven't already got it, or look at
http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/regrebil.htm
You will be building a "Kit Conversion", not a "Kit Car".
So, if you use the "axles" and steering from your donor Jag (you will!) then you will avoid the Q.

Simon.
