| Side louvres I have purchased some s/s side louvres for my Sumo from Europa and when measuring up on Sunday realised that the side grills are somewhat bigger than the Sumo's. Now I know that I can cut out a hole in the side of the car and fibreglass in the new louvres. I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this and how awkward is it? My fibreglassing skills were never great.... Cheers, Tony B |

| RE: Side louvres Tony, I've done the same thing, except I'm getting a bodyshop to alter the body work whilst it's have a spray job done next week. (Mini Cooper Indi Blue) Doesn't look too big a problem, I was envisaging just removing the fibreglass louvres and the grinding the return edges flush on the inside of the wing and then using silkaflex to fix the new louvres in place. I've also heavily modified the Pilgrim inner arches so you will get air through the engine compartment and out of the louvres. I'll let you know how the bodyshop gets on Cheers David:tu |

| RE: Side louvres David, I decided to do the same as you. Had a go a cutting out the Sumo louvres and fitting my new ones. Some gaps around the edges, although not too bad. As my car is also going to the body shop to get painted, I checked that they'd be able to hide the mess I made and they said they would (releif). Car goes in tomorrow for painting - Ford Imperial Blue & Vauxhall Glacier White stripes. Cheers, Tony B --- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tony.breski |

| RE: Side louvres Thanks Steve, but I can't understand how that would be. If the paint is from the same manufacturer, surely they just mix the paint to match the colours? So, let's say, they could all use Dulux paint, but the paint is simply mixed to match whatever colour is required. There wouldn't (or shouldn't) be any issues over putting Dulux on top of Dulux. I'll mention it today as I'm taking the car along at 2.30pm. The painter never mentioned anything about a possible conflict between the two colours. | RE: Side louvres Tony, I suspect that Steve was just yanking your chain. I would have the same trouble mines Jaguar Agean Blue with VW siverblau stripes. http://www.woodoouk.eclipse.co.uk/Wales.gif Kev Davies Dax, 383ci Chevy Stroker, Tremec TKO South Wales
