| RE: ETB speedo setting Simon Ring ETB, tell them your wheel size, tyre size and diff ratio and they will give you the correct numbers to enter in the speedo set up program, if you can wait till tomorrow I think I still have the instructions in the garage on how to do it over the measured mile. :tu :tu :tu :tu :tu

| RE: ETB speedo setting Hi Simon, all I did was get hold of a GPS unit (borrow one from someone) to get the exact speed you are travelling. Then you can simply stick in a rough number in the speedo and then use the the 'percentage' feature so you can simply knock it up a bit at a time (or down a bit). Then yours is 100% accurate (more accurate than the two production cars I own !). Marcus |

| RE: ETB speedo setting Simon AUtOCL Function = Automatic Calibration by driving a measured mile. Initial Calibration Instructions. Push front mounted button and keep pushed. Apply 12 volts by switching on ignition. The display will alternate at two second intervals between:- AUtOCL PULSE AdJUSt Select by releasing the button when the required function is displayed AUtOCL Function After selecting AUtOCL the display changes to bUttOn after 3 seconds. Start the vehicle and go to the start of the measuring track. Exactly at the beginning of the measuring distance press the button shortly and the display will flash "StART" Drive the test track with as constant speed as possible (NOTE:- NO SPEED IS INDICATED DURING THE MEASURING MILE) Exactly at the end of the mile press the button shortly. The determined pulse/distance ratio is displayed (between 500 - 399990) eg:- P50000 meaning 50000 pulses per measured distance The calibration is complete if the display then changes to the total distance or trip mileage display. If FOO is displayed (meaning no pulses) repeat the above procedure.

| RE: ETB speedo setting At my SVA the test guy told me how to find a measured mile. Basically all motorways have little marker posts set in the grass verge of different type. Look for a tall post painted black/white stripes, you will then find another one exactly a mile further on. The police use these for calibrating thier speedo's. There exist on the M5 on just about any straight. Steve :tu :tu :tu |
