| Carb throttle return spring.. Bloody thing snapped the other day (only after 750 miles) on my Webber 500 setup. The engine revs hit about 5.5k for a second or two until I killed the ignition. Luckily it snapped at one end so I managed to bend the end round until it came back on itself to get me home... The reason it snapped may have been because of a throttle cable extender I have to put on the carb which caused the spring to stretch more than normal. A friend of mine tells me that when racing, cars should have two springs in case something like this happens... Might be worth carrying a spare (or an elastic band !!). Marcus |

| RE: Carb throttle return spring.. Scrutineers have always demanded a backup spring on race and rally cars. I've always thought it was a good idea, although I only have one on the cob at the moment. http://www.woodoouk.eclipse.co.uk/Wales.gif Kev Davies Dax, 383ci Chevy Stroker, Tremec TKO South Wales
