Wind Wings

Hope to have the AK road legal by end of the week, then all the non "essentials" can be removed, wheel spinners and the like fitted. Whats the view on wind wings ? for the 300 odd miles that I've "tested" the car without wind wings it seem's allright with not too much buffeting. Are they good value ??
Charlie.

RE: Wind Wings

Wind wings and sun visors are a must, but they will not pass SVA.

RE: Wind Wings

Charlie must agree with the others (that makes a change}( They are a must, Made my wind wings out of roofing/sign plastic instead of the toughened stuff, they also tend to keep the rain out with the hood up or down if caught in a shower! Eric.

RE: Wind Wings

I may be talking complete rubbish here, but without wind wings isn't there a possibility of wind eddies coursing vibrations and warping in the wind screen?

Regarding visors, definitely useful for the evening blat after work during summer! }( (I did think about an early morning blat, but I think I would have had my house fire bombed if I did :} )

Its a small point but make sure they fold all the way up, I had a sumo where they only folded horizontal and found the sun getting in my eyes just above the windscreen frame.

RE: Wind Wings

The mirrors should be OK, just depends at which point they are fitted to the pillars. On the side pillar there are 4 screws holding the screen in place (picture no. 1 at the top, no. 4 at the bottom). The wind wings are attached at positions 1 and 3 using some longer screws. If your mirrors don't interfere with this, you should be OK.
