    fuel consumption

I know by the very nature of our cars we don't worry about fuel consumption but I did the math today and have worked out the 3.5 Rover with a 500 Edelbrock is returning 18mpg on a motorway run today. I think that is ok any thought? anyone else worked their MPG out?

............thought about it, then thought what the heck and filled it with super unleaded and had a great drive, then filled up again . Luckily The toyota aygo, runs on duracell with secret recharging fairies.

But got back and hugged a tree or two to redeem myself.

My megasquirted 3.5 Rover engined Sumo would easily do close to 30mpg on a run. The 4.8 wasn't quite so economical

On my 1100 mile through France last year, mostly motorway at 85mph ish the Yellow Peril returned 22mpg, running a 2.9 Cosworth 24V Ford Granada engine with an Omex 720 ECU.

Shorter journeys with excessive use of the loud pedal has a detrimental effect on econmy. I think. It is a sportscar, not a disability scooter so not usually bothered

It's not been long enough for me to work out the various mpg figures, however Peter (the prior owner and builder) kept a record.

17mpg max on a run and an average of 12mpg

    406Ci Ford BB with a Holley 750 driven thru a 4 spd toploader and a 2.88 diff.

Nothing to see here, at the moment. Move along, move along...
