RE: UK Cobra Club Membership

Robert

Why do I get the impression that you are the type of person who always has to have the last word? You have already (finally) answered my original question (albeit in a round the houses fashion), and any ancillary questions on my part were purely as a result of your intial provarications.

Let it drop matey, you're up against a professional. I'd even go so far as to say that your response to my other (unrelated) queries concening uploading images was rather condescending, if not altogether patronising, and I am rather chuffed that Stan has opted for my simple solution rather than yours (which incidentally doesn't work). Having experienced similar problems with 1 & 1 Internet who host my company website I rather doubted that you would find a solution. Maybe you will prove me wrong.

Goodnight, and sweet dreams ... ZZZzzz

This is my FINAL response on this Topic. Post what you may I will not participate further.

(Give us a kiss?)

Robert.
As an aside would it be an idea to put a locked post at the top of the Regional Roundup section of the forum, Listing the Dates/Times of Regional Meets? Just a thought!
Cheers

I just couldn't believe the post so I had to read it again, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming, whilst doing so I noticed the spelling mistakes, professional my arse.

RE: UK Cobra Club Membership

Hit a nerve have we, this is a copy of a private e-mail I have just received from Mr Viper.

************************************************** ******************

And what do you know? Try reading the postings - I don't like being ripped off or maybe I should say, misled. I'm actually a very reasonable person who is prepared to say things that others might not. That is my nature. Just occasionally a voice is heard that doesn't "conform". Don't criticise me for questioning where others would fear to tread. Haven't you ever wanted to say something but were afraid that your peers would frown on it?

************************************************** *****************

Phil

You have been neither ripped of or misled, I have nothing to do with the running of the Club, but I strongly object to new members slagging of all the unpaid hard work that Robert and all the committee members do for love.

You may ask other members on the forum, I for one are not backwards in coming forwards when I have a grievance, but there is a right way and a wrong way of getting things done.

I have no absolute need to have the last word, and am happy to continue this most enlightening discourse with you. You might try asking a direct question without the secondary complaints, then we can deal with your obvious issues one at a time.

The reason my initial response to you was maybe a bit short was due to the fact that 90% of the users here have had no problems whatever with uploading images to the forum. Secondly, your initial PM to me said "Sorry to be a pain in the proverbials - but if it 'ain't right, it 'ain't right ..." well, it was at your end that wasn't right, so in your professional capacity you really ought to have checked your own systems first before jumping in with both feet.

The solution I provided was based on a quick search on Google which I am surprised you did not do. I do not have Norton and won't ever have Norton, I use different systems in my professional capacity.

I think you will find that I treat people as they treat me, thats human nature, and to be perfectly honest, I find your attitude abysmal. I do not provide support on the forum, I help out where I can. The majority of issues are to do with local configuration, and I do not own a crystal ball.

RE: UK Cobra Club Membership

Viper / Phil....whatever,

I have so many issues with what you have said by way of introduction to a a new arena for you I don't know where to start. I imagine your a real winner at parties and make friends with great ease. From where I sit you have ticked all the boxes on the 'How to come across like a total w**ker' questionaire. Insulted volunteers you don't know, cast aspersions upon the professionalism on those who are here to help and completed your PHD in patronism.

We're here to talk Cobra, get good advice and have fun.

I am sure the 'Jag Club' appreciate your membership more, feel free to spend more time there.

I know I have gone out on a limb taking on a 'professional' such as yourself but I must have a reckless streak in me - it's why I have a Cobra and why I don't break down in tears if the mag isn't on my doorstep every ten minutes.

RE: UK Cobra Club Membership

Phil, have to say matey this is all a bit heavy! When I said you will have posted 50 times by the end of the week and you replied " you ain't seen nothing yet" you weren't joking! (I was!)

I think every one in the Club is quite happy with the way things are, and most like it the way it is, well most times anyway! send me your address by private email and I will send you the last issue of of Snake Torque as it may take a while for your stuff to arrive. Your initial expectations seem to be at a level I fail to see or understand. I Think everyone has given you plenty of assistance and a good welcome so far including yours truly.

I have belonged to many car clubs in my time TR register etc, none can match this Club, for honesty, organization, web site, help, and very friendly bunch up and down the country. I have gained many friends, give it a chance mate.

RE: UK Cobra Club Membership

Thanks Eric, I needed that. I must admit that I have previous for "going off on one", especially when I can't get a straight answer to a simple question. Especially after a few sherberts.

Anyway, at the end of a bloody awful week (no excuse I know), and in the cool light of day I can see now that I went OTT - was it the red mist, or was it the red wine? I rather suspect red wine and lack of sleep.

So, to everyone who got involved in this, my apologies. It still would have been nice to have received a proper explanation from the start but I guess we all tend to go on the defensive when attacked. Now that I fully understand the inner workings of the Club I will endeavour to be a worthwhile member in the future (if you'll still have me, that is). Hope there's no spelling mistakes this time!

RE: UK Cobra Club Membership

It makes my blood boil when pratts like viper go on like this. I have been a member for just over a year and have nothing but praise for Robert and the rest of the crew that produce this web site and Snake Torque. The information and knowledge I have gained has been excelent.

Go back to your Jag club and as said before, try and be profesional, which I doubt you can with an attitude like that.

Moan over now, back to the beer.
