Valvoline Racing Oils

Looking around in my local car accessory shop today, I noticed they had two sorts of Valvoline Racing Oil.

One was the Valvoline 20/50 racing oil (black can), the other Was Valvoline VR1 20/50 racing oil.

Does anyone know what the difference is ?, is one better than the other at high temp or something ?, just curious..

Steve

Steve
The VR1 is synthetic, which I think is unsuitable for an RV8, I use the Black can 20/50 racing and have found it well good.

RE: Valvoline Racing Oils

Valvoline 20/50 Racing oil in the black can is mineral oil and is excellent, increased my oil pressure by 10psi over Castrol 20/50

Anybody know where the most likely place is that stocks valvaline?
Its a real sod to find as most places are not bothering to stock it anymore.

Interesting..

Good job I've been buying the black can 20/50, and yes it does seem to hold better oil pressure, and I use less oil.
