They really generated some nostalgia, and some fond memories of some wild times.

book deal

Hi Kevin,

anything is possible !!!!!

I submitted a chapter's worth for Trevor Legate's second Cobra volume [ see RAM chapter] and supplied relevant pix and info.

I'm well into my current book on a totally different subject, but who knows?

Many people have suggested that with my lifelong association in the industry that maybe a book is a possibility.

Maybe I should keep these little anecdotes to myself for the time being!

Smile Missed and things

just got a very nice message saying that my presence on the forum has been missed!

The last time someone said they had missed me, they were behind a .357 magnum! [ not the 4 wheeled variety ]

Well Kevin and others who have asked for snippets of history regarding "our" hobby - I'm quite happy to do that, as long as nobody's getting the ass bored off them!

I'll have to try to master pix posting as I've got some nice stuff of Carroll. Bob Bondurant, Pete Brock, et al - most of it unpublished.

And what about "modern" history, or history in the making?

I'm still actively involved with 2 major manufacturers and both have new Cobra products coming out this year.

wow thanx

Thanx for the encouragement boys - jeez, haven't had a welcome like that since I walked into a pub with £500 in my pocket!

Seriously though - I will start going through some of the stuff that is publishable, and if there is some simple way of posting pix [ 6 year old instructions please] then I'll also dig out some of the "private" stuff.

Keith old buddy - if you come accross this mail, I had a computer crash last week and wiped off all my e-mails - including the pix you sent me of your "workshop" [ read museum ].
Can you please make contact again as I can't find a contact # on your "Dinky" site. Sorry mate - but I need to send you the pic of when you, Micky Fish and myself made the front page of the newspapers at Le Mans !!!!!

Back to the plot - just to whet a few appetites -

I'm currently working on the following [ consultant ] - A full house competition based Mercedes [ V8 natch ] Cobra and a Ditto with BMW base. One is German - one is English [ from a very well known phrase or saying ].

The Beemer based car will be Track Day orientated - no frills but plenty of thrills.

As soon as I get the nod from my partner in crime - I'll post details, again with pix if I can master it.

I must confess that having been involved in "Cobras" for so long I was becoming a bit jaded, but these two new projects have really got my juices flowing again - especially the track day warrior.

Watch this space

As far as posting pictures goes, there's quite a bit of recent information in this thread :

Posting pictures

Might be of some help, although I've never actually tried it myself!

Pete.
