sva due on 25th

hi all

my sva test has come back for 25th at birmingham - not long now!! ive got a few late nights now to do all the 'finishing' touches (why do they take so bl**dy long!).anyone had any experiences of the birmingham sva centre??

second question. on the rolling road last week and on the road today (on the way to the mot station , honest officer , the temperature under the bonnet of my ak is very high. i have an extended footwell and the servo is getting too hot to touch as it sits only 2" above the side pipe headers. i dont want to knacker the rubber inside the servo or run out of brakes and wondered if anyone has had any luck with the special heat reflecting sheets you can buy. i have already lagged the exhaust with thermotec wrap, but this seems to have little effect on the rising heat from the headers when stationary in traffic.

thanks all

adam

Morning Adam,
Myself and keith (jake) have had our SVA test at Birmingham in the last month, both now passed they are very friendly and professional and do not pull you up on the silly points that some SVA stations love, good luck :tu

RE: sva due on 25th

Hi Adam,

I spoke to Dax about this and they recommended fitting one. I've now bought the exhaust guard kit from them but haven't fitted it yet as my exhausts aren't being built till next week.

Regards

Michael

Hi Adam, yes i'm the one putting wind wings on at Stoneleigh. I should be going Le-Mans with Tinka, if i don't get the engine mods done i'll be the one at the back, far far back, in the distance :}

RE: sva due on 25th

Adam, first thing is that the temperature under the bonnet on most cars gets pretty high. Main thing is to make sure that what needs to be protected is.

Sounds like your headers run closer to your master cylinder than mine, but my kit manufacturer sold a heat shield for the master cylinder which I fitted and I have never had any probs in 10 years.

If one is avialble for your I would buy or get one made.
