Ford Windsor 353 data/replica Hallibrand wheel knock off spi

Hello All
I am hoping one of you guys/gals out there knows where I can find the relevant data for the dwell angle/timing setting for a Ford Windsor 353....?
Also, on a trip to LeMans in 2000 I lost a replica knock off spinner from my replica Hallibrand wheels....can anyone point me in the right direction to find one?
All advice/knowledge gratefully received

Many thanks
Nicko

RE: Ford Windsor 353 data/replica Hallibrand wheel knock off

Nicko - 351W timing "static" 16degrees btdc, should have about 18 degrees of mechanical advance, all in by 3000rpm, total 34degrees btdc at those revs. You can set the "static" timing up to about 900rpm, disconnect any vac advance you may have. Possibly worth checking that your crank pulley markings and pointer are acutally correct at tdc first, it is not unknown for this to be out.

Dwell or points gap- depends on what distributor you have. Let me know.

Knock off spinner - try Image wheels, 0121 522 2442. Check the OD of the "shank" of the spinner you want to be sure (measure ID of the wheel centre hole).

Is there any particular reason you refer to your engine as a "353"??

HTH

Wilf

RE: Ford Windsor 353 data/replica Hallibrand wheel knock off

Hi Wilf
many thanks indeed for the reply - the engine is supposedly (according to the documentation I have!) 353 cubic inch...about 5.7 litres

I'll look into what dizzy it is, I can't remember off hand, thanks again, you're very kind Sir!

kind regards

Nick
