Security

Going back to my questions about Radio security... Is anyone elase worried about the security of their car (especially when parked in town with the roof off)?

Obviously a car alarm wouldnt be effective, but has anyone fitted devices such as immobalisers, etc?

Ben

Re: Security

Nothing is stopping you installing an alarm/immobiliser, but bear in mind the items which are normally mounted inside the car would be exposed to the weather
You would likely be better off with one or both of these "simple and reliable" items:
Removable steering wheel
Security battery isolator.

I use both.

Simon.

Re: Security

ben,

another simple trick is to remove the HT lead from the coil to the distributor.
and it fits nicely in her hand bag

Re: Security

I used the donor cars (BMW) security system.

As it took me a good 6 months to get the ffin thing to fire up, it should be safe enough when Im in the pub for an hour or so !!

Its the low loaders I'd have to be worried about.

Cheers,

Tony

Re: Security

Rich, not too sure I like the sound of you caring a hand bag.

If someone really wants to steel your car then they will no matter what you do. IMHO the best thing to do is offer as much of a visible deterrent as poss to stop them doing the damage in the first place A REMOVABLE STEERING WHEEL.
